International Women's Day Dinner

March 13, 2025

Saturday March 8 saw a good crowd get together at the Oberon Community Centre for the annual International Women's Day dinner, hosted by Oberon Council. Things were a little crowded for pre-dinner drinks in the foyer, but that's all just part of the fun.

Guests were welcomed by Oberon Mayor Andrew McKibbin, with Councillor Katie Graham doing a very good job as MC for the rest of the evening.

One highlight of the night was a presentation by Member for Bathurst Paul Toole to Kathy Sajowitz, who had been declared Local Woman of the Year for the Bathurst electorate. We already knew about the award but this night gave everyone a chance to congratulate Kathy in person.

Inspiring speeches were given by Tatiana Coulter from Oberon Black Truffles and Lucy O'Flaherty from Columbia Aged Care who both talked about their journeys to the top and the obstacles they had to overcome to get there. Inspiring women is what International Women's Day is all about.

A great night and a great event. Oberon Council must be thanked for their hospitality.
