Gingerbread winners

The massive display of over 300 gingerbread figures across O'Connell included a competition between schools to make a house.  Schools from even a long way away entered, and the winners were announced by Member for Bathurst Paul Toole at Bunnings in Kelso on December 17. (Bunning were a major sponsor and supporter of the whole project.)

The winners were:

• Champion Small Public School: Wattle Flat Public School
• Champion Primary School: St Philomena Primary School
• Champion High School: Lithgow High School
• Champion Community Group: Glenray
• Highly Commended Primary School : Oberon Public School
• People's Choice Award and Highly Commended: Kelso High School

Students from O'Connell Public School read out a message of thanks to everyone who helped to make the 2024 project such an enormous success.

A special thanks has to go to Bunnings, who not only supported the project but provided an almost perfect place for the presentations, and to Vanessa Lavelle from the O'Connell Public School P&C who actually organised the whole thing.
