Pines wind farm details emerge

June 20, 2024

Some more details are available about the proposed wind farm in the forests around Oberon. The companies working on the proposal, TagEnergy and Stromlo Energy, have held their first community consultation since Forestry announced the successful applicants for development in the forests and showed where the areas in which the towers will be located. The information provided at these consultations (the first was at Black Springs on June 20, with more at Black Springs on June 22 and Oberon on July 27 and 29) answers some of the concerns that residents might have, but there is still more to learn as the project unfolds over the next few months.

There is a lot of information in the Community Information Guide, but residents should still try to attend the meetings and ask questions.

Click to read the Guide online.

Oberon Matters will be attending the community meetings and will continue to report on what both the company and opponents have to say.
