This anything but a conventional garden. Chris Dutton and Michael Wilson have over 12 years transformed a paddock next to the Fish River from a place with a single poplar tree to a large garden which incorporates the landscape and scenery into the experience. A significant fact is that all the poplars around the garden were propagated from the single tree that had been there on Day One.

Covering 20 acres, the garden incorporates ornamental pears, maples, crab apples, weeping cherries and of course poplars. With that much space it's not necessary to crowd things together, and the sparseness adds to the overall effect.

The only tree on the property twelve years ago.
