Easter around Oberon - Part 2

April 4, 2024

A sign of the tourists in town was the number of campers at both the Showground and the Reef Reserve.

Speaking of the Reef Reserve, the lake was looking absolutely beautiful for the people fishing or paddling kayaks.

Everyone knows that swimming in the lake is banned, but some people can't be told.
The rule doesn't apply to ducks.

And if you don't have a boat, don't let that stop you.

Jenolan Caves was fully booked for the whole weekend, but a bit of fast talking got Oberon Matters past the roadblock without a ticket (while waiting for the escort vehicle, three cars were sent back for not having a booking). The village doesn't look very crowded, but that is because almost all of the visitors were underground. The cafe was doing good business.

Speaking of cafes, lunchtime at Cafe Oberon was busy.

Mayfield Garden was doing a roaring trade, and had to open two extra car parks to fit everyone in. Diners and coffee drinkers were entertained by some nice music from Mick Vawdon.
