A new name in town

September 4, 2025

Well, it's sort of new because the name was in Oberon some years ago, but Bedwells Feed Barn and Saddlery are back from September 1 as the new owners of what has been Oberon Industrial and Farming Supplies for the last few years.

The new sign on the building at 63 Dart Street says it all.

Pete and Ros Hammond have been running the store for the last sixteen years, and are looking forward to a relaxing retirement on their farm. The new owners, Anthony and Caite Frisby, have a few years less experience but know enough about the produce and farming game to ensure the success of the newly named store. The Frisbys bought Bedwells from Anthony's parents, so farm supplies are in the family DNA. Bedwells also has stores in Bathurst and Wallerawang.

The old and the new - Pete and Ros Hammond, Sue Burton Bernie Bebbington,
Anthony and Caite Frisby and Kate Cambbell.

Sue Burton and Bernie Bebbington will stay on as the staff and will be joined occasionally by Kate Campbell from Bedwells in Bathurst (who was at the Oberon store until 2015).

Handing over the keys.

The store will carry much the same range of products and services as it did in the past, so if you are a regular customer you won't be disappointed or left behind. It will remain with the CRT group and retain the Stihl, BOC and Castrol agencies, so all that will change will really be the name on the door.

One thing that everyone wanted mentioned is the "Yep! Got Chooks" on the sign, and yes, they really do have chooks for sale.

Kate, Caite and Anthony. With chooks!

Bedwells can be contacted through their web site, where you can place online orders to be collected in Oberon, by , by phone on  and by dropping into the store at 63 Dart Street.
