The Long Arm Farm is back in Oberon

July 17, 2025

Just under two years ago, Kim and Joel Arnott closed the Long Arm Farm Café in Oberon St, but they are back with the Long Arm Corner Store at the other end of the street. Situated on the corner of Fleming St, it's a lot smaller than the previous café, but that doesn't matter because it no longer offers sit down dining.

The store offers a wide selection of local produce and home-cooked food as well as excellent coffee which you can either take away or sip while browsing the shelves to find the things that you need to buy, even if you didn't know you needed them before coming in the door. There are even artworks for sale.

Something that wasn't available on opening day was the tasty pork products from the Long Arm Farm, but Joel has been sharpening up his butchering gear and fresh pork should be available by the time you read this. And there will be bacon!

Some people say that there are too many places in Oberon to buy coffee, but this is ridiculous as there are still many places that don't sell coffee at all so another option to fill up on jitter fuel can only be welcome. And while you're waiting for the brew to be assembled you might find some honey, jam or other deliciousness that will make life much more pleasant.

Kim and a shy Mia keep the coffee coming.

Oberon Matters dropped in on opening day to get some photos.

Out the back, Joel cooks the sourdough loaves and other things that are very nice to eat.

And there's even a reminder of the old café up the road.

As well as frequenting the store, you can follow Long Arm Farm on their Facebook page.

The store is a very welcome addition to the Oberon streetscape and a great place to find out what sorts of things come from the local area.
