The burgers are better at Brazen Burgers

The building signs aren't up yet, but the Fusion Cafe in Oberon Street is now Brazen Burgers, with a totally new menu and opening hours. "We saw a need for something different to just a cafe, and a need for people to have a variety of foods to choose from in the early evening," proprietor Marlon said. "Also, we aren't just doing the standard burgers but have a gourmet range that make us unique."

Carson and Marlon are bringing a new eating experience to Oberon.

There are other places in Oberon doing burgers but what is on offer here is different, although some of the traditional versions will still be offered. Marlon is particularly proud of the Chicken BLT, which uses fried chicken cooked in a totally different way to "that other place".

The menu will get bigger over time.

The test of any food outlet is the food, and Oberon Matters stuck to the Bacon & Egg Roll. As this is a standard item everywhere it's a good point of comparison. And how did it compare?

Delicious. Also Marlon's method of putting it together prevents the spurt of yolk onto the eater's shirt that is a constant worry and danger.

Delicious!

Opening hours are:

  • Monday - Closed
  • Tuesday - 9am to 8pm
  • Wednesday - 9am to 8pm
  • Thursday - 9am to 8pm
  • Friday - 9am to 9pm
  • Saturday - 9am to 9pm
  • Sunday - 90am to 2pm

So what are you waiting for? Get down to 133 Oberon Street and grab yourself an excellent meal.

In a piece of very bad news, Brazen Burgers closed on October 20, 2024. The reasons were several but had nothing to do with the quality of the food or service. Sometimes family matters and logistics take precedence over the rest of life.

Oberon Matters wishes Carson and Marlon all the best for the future.
