GUN BUYBACK = LEGALISED THEFT!
I recently met with a local firearms business owner who, like
many people across our region, is frustrated by this flawed gun
buyback scheme.
State and federal governments are blowing a BILLION DOLLARS
paying cents on the dollar for legitimate firearms owned by
honest, law-abiding citizens.
Hard-working locals who do the right thing are being treated
like criminals, while also getting ripped off!
As many have pointed out, why aren't governments focusing
their efforts on actual criminals and terrorists instead?
Criminals don't follow licensing regimes and they certainly
aren't handing in their guns!
This scheme takes guns out of safes - not off the streets.
Police are frustrated that they put a massive amount of work
catching crooks who deal in illegal guns only for courts to let
them back out on the streets all to quickly with sentences that
don't fit the crime.
Instead of punishing honest Australians, governments should
be putting that money into frontline policing, tougher
penalties, and actual community safety.
This whole farce needs to be BINNED!
I VOTED AGAINST THESE LAWS AND WILL CONTINUE TO OPPOSE THEM
OUR SENIORS BETRAYED!
In Parliament, the Government used its numbers to force
through its cruel cash grab, snatching vital private health
insurance rebates away from Australians over 65.
I voted against these changes, but the Government rammed them
through anyway.
There was no mandate for these cuts. They never took it to an
election.
These Australians worked hard, sacrificed, and paid their
premiums year after year to relieve pressure on our public
system.
Now, with crushing cost-of-living pressures, what is their
reward?
This short-sighted policy is unfair to our seniors, bad for
Australian healthcare, and terrible for regional health.
It's wrong, it's cruel and it needs to be binned immediately.
