Oberon Matters Local news for local people |
Burraga Dam This camp site is accessed by a short dirt road from Arkstone Road a short distance from Burraga village. The road is easily passible in a two-wheel-drive vehicle, although there is a climb coming out that could be a bit tricky in the wet. The site is maintained by Oberon Council. It's a nice place to hunt some fish, paddle around in a canoe (no powerboats, please) and just to relax. As it's classed as an alpine lake, swimming is not a good idea and a flotation vest should be worn when out on the water.
Moron Alert!! The photos below were taken on a previous visit, and show entry and exit bullet holes in the toilet. While the skill and marksmanship required to hit a fast-moving and small toilet should be applauded, the important thing to note is that a straight line between the entry and exit holes would pass through the head of an average sized adult sitting on the toilet.
